Another multiplex from my past is closing its doors forever: Showcase Cinemas Randolph. Very convenient to my parent's home in Milton where I lived in 2001-2003. it was a very good example of a stadium seating multiplex, especially for a late-90s design. Free parking, close to home, and especially notable for rows deep enough you could exit without stepping around the ankles of other moviegoers. This was also an era when I was unemployed, so I went to the movies in Randolph a lot: about three dozen times, mostly from 2001-2003:
- First visit: Sleepy Hollow, Thanksgiving 1999
- Spielberg 4: Catch Me If You Can, Minority Report, A.I., and E.T. (Five if you count Jurassic Park III)
- Peter Jackson 3: King Kong, Fellowship of the Ring (on Christmas Day!) and Return of the King (midnight screening)
- Steven Soderbergh 2: Ocean's Eleven (first digital projection movie I saw) and Traffic
- Sam Raimi 2: The Gift and Spider-Man
- George Lucas 2: Attack of the Clones and Revenge Of The Sith
- Last visit (probably): Zodiac, 2007
