237 Tonight I Celebrate My Playlist
- VAN HALEN "Big Bad Bill (Is Sweet William Now)"
- Beyoncé "BODYGUARD" Somehow Beyoncé has created a throwback 1980s rock/soul song!
- PEARL JAM "Corduroy" Eddie Vedder performed "Corduroy" live at the SNL 50 Concert at Radio City, I was reminded I never put it on a playlist back in the 1990s...
- MY MORNING JACKET "Time Waited" Never got into My Morning Jacket; this song with a great vibe popped up in my ears somehow...
- R.E.M. "You Are The Everything" leaning hard on R.E.M. thanks to the biography I just read.
- THE RUTLES "Living In Hope" somehow The Rutles tribute/parody of The Beatles got so close to the Fab Four, it's like they're looking at them from the inside. This song doesn't "sound like" a specific Ringo song- it sounds like all of them.
- LITTLE RICHARD "Tutti Frutti"
- JOE JACKSON "Another World" another song I heard during February's SNL 50th celebration, from Jackson performing live on SNL in 1982.
- THE CURE "Primary" I listened to Standing On A Beach last summer and it reminded me to load up on old Cure songs!
- GRACIE ABRAMS "Close To You"
- LILLY HIATT "Hidden Day" I am a big John Hiatt fan, so how is it that I only discovered his daughter's solo career now?
- JOSHUA DAVID THAYER "Bird Children" Josh is a former colleague and briefly, a bandmate in my old office rock band. A tremendously talented musician and steadfast, supportive bandmate.
- LED ZEPPELIN "Heartbreaker"
- THE BEATLES "Revolution" (single version) another iconic single that never made it onto one of my playlists before?
- DRIVE-BY TRUCKERS "Marry Me" could this song sound more like a lost-Exile On Main St Stones song?
- SOCCER MOMMY "Shotgun"
- eliora "ROSES" the other singer-songwriter on this playlist that I know personally- well, I've met her a few times. So talented!
- PEABO BRYSON & ROBERTA FLACK "Tonight I Celebrate My Love"
- AEROSMITH "Last Child"
- CREAM "White Room"
- boygenius "BLACK HOLE"
- U2 "Exit"
