Simply delightful, gorgeous animation, fantastic backgrounds. Story is definitely weird enough that I can see why Disney declined to make this movie. Dom DeLuise as the comic relief is maybe a bit much, tonally out of step with the rest of the movie.
Check it out if you never saw it - way better than some of the mid dreck Disney was making in the 1980s.
