227 Goji Maca Snakaroons

  1. "Bored" Waxahatchee
  2. "One Time One Night" Los Lobos
  3. "Flying Over Water" Jason Isbell - if I don't know an artists catalog too well, I don't like to see them live in concert without getting to know their music first. Maybe some people would consider this a spoiler, but I sometimes look up their recent setlists on setlist dot fm to find out what I can expect, and then do my due dilligence.
  4. "Too Good To Be True" Kacey Musgraves
  5. "Cut Me Some Slack" McCartney, Grohl, Smear, and Novoselic - inspired by reading Grohl's memoir and watching all of Grohl's appearances on SNL on YouTube. With Nirvana, Tom Petty, and this trio!
  6. "If You Gotta Make A Fool Of Somebody" Aretha Franklin
  7. "Honey Bee" Tom Petty
  8. "Cool Water" Hank Williams, as heard in the animated movie Rango
  9. "Daddy's Gonna Pay for Your Crashed Car" U2
  10. "Broken Man" St. Vincent
  11. "Let Me Clear My Throat" DJ Kool
  12. "See See Rider" LaVern Baker
  13. "Still I Long For Your Kiss" Lucinda Williams
  14. "Born For Loving You" Big Thief
  15. "Mohammed's Radio" I sometimes have trouble respecting rock singers who don't write their own material. It comes from my post-Beatles philosophy that real rock bands are self-contained and write their own stuff. I don't know how much music Linda Rondstadt writes, but I have the impression she relied on covering other's material for her success. Her beauty also contributed to my impression that she was coasting and not "legit" enough. This all may be wildly unfair and sexist, and I'm sorry but I wanted to be forthright here. I should give her more credit for covering quality songs, including multiple Warren Zevon songs; she has thrived in this area, much like the Queen of Covers, Bonnie Raitt.
  16. "Dance Around It" Lucius, Brandi Carlile, Sheryl Crow
  17. "Jailbreak" Thin Lizzy
  18. "Waterloo Sunset" - reading a collection of interviews with British songwriters, I'm trying to reappraise The Kinks, a band I don't know well. I find Ray Davies' voice sing-songy and too boyish for my taste, but I am discovering this spring that he is a hell of a songwriter.
  19. "Angel From Montgomery" Bonnie Raitt, covering John Prine
  20. "My Sister" The Juliana Hatfield Three - this doesn't feel like a perfect fit in the sequence here, but maybe I'll get used to it?
  21. Groovin' Booker T & The MG's
