One of the more high-profile post-Star Wars "let's get in on this sci-fi fad" movies, along with Flash Gordon, this Dune features good production design, most of the future cast of Twin Peaks, strident, campy music from Toto, and excellent sand worms. The plot is complicated, but frequent voiceovers of the characters' thoughts helped a lot, and somehow didn't feel intrusive or stilted. (HBO Max)
