Barbie

Kinda like The Lego Movie, but with Barbie and Ken becoming self-aware instead of Emmet The Minifig. I never played with Barbies and my kid sister didn't either, I know next to nothing about them, and I still found this movie deeply entertaining. 

I don't know if it's cynical or savvy or both, but Will Ferrell's presence as the mostly benevolent head of Mattel in the real world felt like a sop to the studio and Mattel. "You think this movie is too girl-centric and men won't want to go? Well...what if we get every man's favorite actor Will Ferrell to be in it? He can yell and pound a conference table with his fist in that funny way when he raises his voice? Will that be enough to attract some husbands and boyfriends to come with their wives and girlfriends?"
