I was the same age as Elliott when E.T. came out;
this explains my love for red hoodies

I was a ten-year-old latchkey kid living in suburbia with a dirtbike, a big forest behind my house, a older brother, and younger sister. E.T. didn't speak to me. It WAS me.
I saw the movie in its original release at the long-gone movie theater in downtown Ipswich, Mass. For the 20th anniversary in 2002, I saw it at Showcase Cinemas Randolph.
