One of the advantages of working in radio is access to an enormous CD library. After I got comfortable at my new radio employer, I created this tape: all from CDs from the station library. Many songs that I had liked for years and never owned myself.
That's why it's called "Acquaintances".
Unlike the format of my employer, the collection is not full of Top 40 songs; the mix contains mostly AAA and alt-rock. I would repeat this "collected from the radio station library" technique 13 months later on mixtape 40.

Despite including some of my all-time favorite songs, this tape has aged real bad. Not only do I never ever include the same artists twice in a row anymore (I break this rule three times, plus Extreme is on both sides of the tape), but this tape also features two songs I never need to hear ever again - the theme from the "Friends" TV show, and "Run-Around" from Blues Traveler. Don't tell Hall and Oates, but their original performance of "Every Time You Go Away" is boring compared to Paul Young's remake. 100 minute Maxell cassette
